ABOUT THE MOVEMENT
Ctrl+Alt+Reclaim is Europe’s first tech justice youth-led movement currently being incubated by People vs Big Tech. Formed in September 2024, the movement is made up of eighteen 17-25 year-olds from France, Germany Ireland, Spain and the United Kingdom - and will be swiftly expanding. Ctrl+Alt+Reclaim aims to ensure young people’s voices and participation are prioritised within EU tech regulation policies and dialogues and seeks to build a new culture that defines how desirable tech and healthy online spaces look like. BE PART OF CTRL+ALT+RECLAIM
Join the movement as a Community Lead. Here, you will be in charge of movement building and Ctrl+Alt+Reclaim’s internal collaboration and engagement, including:
- Support the movement to run smoothly.
- Plan and manage resources to support our campaigns and actions.
- Support fundraising efforts to keep the movement going.
- Bring new people into the movement and help them feel part of the team from day one.
- Identify partner organisations inside and outside the tech justice field who we could collaborate with to increase our impact.
- Be a friendly point of contact for wellbeing and support in the movement.
- Check in on how we’re doing and find ways to grow and improve Ctrl+Alt+Reclaim.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Young people aged 18-25 based in Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Spain, the Netherlands and the UK.
- Available for four hours a week until the end of 2025.
- Are passionate about making social media and the internet better and safer for all.
- Have experience championing digital and/or health rights within your community.
- Have experience working within and/or building campaign movements/community action.
- Experience of fundraising is not necessary but would be very beneficial!
- Basic knowledge of the European Union and how it functions.
- Proficient English speaker.
YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE
- A tech nerd: we hope you’ll be able to learn a lot from the knowledge within the movement and beyond.
- An expert advocate: we’re looking for passion and commitment to growing your skills and building a movement.
